David Ford
Hazardous Materials Program Manager, US DOT
Mr. David Ford is the Hazardous Materials Program Manager for the Southern Service Center of the USDOT/Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The Southern Service Center is comprised of the 11 states in the Southeastern United States. He has held that position since November 2009. Prior to joining FMCSA, Mr. Ford was with the Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division for 23 years. He started out as an officer inspecting trucks at weigh stations, was the Division’s Hazardous Materials Unit commander for many years, and managed several statewide enforcement and training programs, attaining the rank of Lieutenant. Mr. Ford graduated cum laude from Lake Superior State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice. Mr. Ford resides in North Carolina and is married and has two sons.
